August 14-16, 2009 -- I attended the Desmond O'Hagan workshop. I love his
style. You'd be amazed at how effortless he makes it look.

I did
one picture each day, and it turns out, they were all of streets...China,
Venice, and Pittsburgh! Ironically, the Venice picture was the last one I
did but it's the worst one. My goal was to not overwork it, and I failed
terribly on that score. It has much wrong with it so I will tackle it
again someday.
Desmond is a great instructor...he has a very easygoing, approachable manner. He
was patient and provided concrete advice for people of all skill levels.
He also talked about taking good reference shots, framing, working with
galleries, promoting yourself on and off the web, and more, all of which
was interesting though I doubt gallery info will ever apply to me personally! I have
a lot of new knowledge in my head now, though it's not yet evident in my
output. I see much practice in my future!
